PLANT OPERATOR I, II, OR III
Rancho Murieta Community Services District is now accepting applications for one (1) Full Time Water/Wastewater Plant Operator position within the Operator I-III classification which requires a Water &/or Wastewater certification to start. Currently preference will be given to an operator with a Wastewater certification. Both certifications will be eventually needed after hire.
Salary: $4,105-6,551/Depending on qualifications. Salary will increase 2.75% beginning in 2020. A certification bonus is available for each additional required certification above required job classification at 2.5% each, of up to 5%.
As a medium sized community, duties are typically split up among Operations staff members to cover Water, Wastewater, and seasonal Reclamation operations. Duties include the ability to:
To operate, maintain, and control the District's water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities; to regulate influent, and effluent flows within the system; to do basic laboratory testing and sample collection; to check operations and monitor equipment for proper functioning; to perform regular maintenance of District water and wastewater treatment and pumping facilities, machinery, equipment, structures, and grounds; and to perform other related duties as required.
The Plant Operator 1 requires possession of either a CA Grade 1 Wastewater Plant Operator’s Certificate by the California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB); or CA Grade 1 Operator’s certificate issued by the SWRCB, Division of Drinking Water at the time of hire, and the ability to obtain the other outstanding certification within 18 months of entering the position.
A CA grade 1 or higher certification in either Water or Wastewater may qualify an applicant for an interview..
Benefits: CalPERS retirement of 2.0% at 55 for classic members, 2.0% at 62 for new members, and medical, dental, and vision benefits.
