Water Treatment Plant Expansion Project Completed!

The new water treatment plant is in operation, providing Rancho Murieta with high quality drinking water. The Project officially broke ground in September of 2014. The initial acceptance test was conducted in April of 2016.

On June 2, 2016, the District hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the project. Below is the Project slide show from the ceremony.

The newly expanded plant was first built in 1978 to meet the demands of the developing community. A second treatment plant was constructed in 1987. Both plants were retrofitted in 1995 to meet new State rules and regulations for treating and providing drinking water.

The 2016 expansion provides almost double the capacity of both plants - up to 6.0 million gallons a day.
