Solid Waste Collection and Disposal

California Waste Recovery Systems (Cal-Waste) has been providing solid waste removal and disposal services for Rancho Murieta since November of 2005. Cal-Waste has always provided excellent service to the residents of Rancho Murieta. At the May 15, 2013 District Board meeting, the Board of Directors approved an additional ten (10) year term of the Collection Services Agreement with Cal-Waste.

With the additional contract term, Cal-Waste will be providing some service enhancements, which include: household battery collection, cooking oil collection, e-waste collection, cell phone collection, universal waste collection, and an increase in the allowable volume of large item collection service. Click below for more information.

Collection days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, depending on your street address. The midweek collection days avoids having containers left out by residents traveling over the weekend. Green waste and recycles are collected on alternate weeks. Garbage is picked up weekly. Hours of collection are no earlier than 7:00 a.m. and no later than 5:00 p.m., unless otherwise noticed.

Cal-Waste is pleased to unveil a new tool that makes it easier for residents to access information about their collection schedule and receive reminders that will ensure you do not forget your garbage collection day.  This web-based tool allows residents to set up reminders that can be automatically sent to you by email, text message, or telephone or set up reminders in your Outlook Calendar.

Once you are signed up online, you can opt in to receive weekly reminders. You will also be notified of schedule changes due to weather, holidays, and upcoming events. You will also receive information about seasonal campaigns such as bulky waste clean ups and Christmas tree recycling.

You can also search the Waste Wizard to learn if an item should be recycled, composted, or disposed of.

Cal-Waste will continue to produce and distribute printed waste collection calendars. Visit the Cal Waste
