Subject:          Golf Cart Thefts       

Last Friday night into early Saturday morning, five golf carts were stolen from houses on the North and South areas of the District. All of the carts were left outside, unsecured, and at least one of them had the keys in the cart. Golf carts are easy to steal without the keys. Fortunately, the carts were found later Saturday morning and returned to the owners with very little or no damage to them. Please secure your golf carts in your garages and do not leave the keys or any valuables in your golf carts. Stealing a golf cart could be considered Grand Theft under the California Penal Code, which is a felony. The thefts were reported to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.
