Blue Green Algae in Clementia
Cyanobacteria (blue green algae) has been spotted in Clementia Reservoir. Humans (and pets) can be exposed to the harmful algal blooms through accidental ingestion while swimming, by inhaling water spray (aerosols) during water recreation (such as boating), or by being in the water where a bloom is occurring. Your best bet is – “When in doubt, best keep out!”. While swimming and direct reservoir contact is allowed for Clementia Reservoir , it is advisable to avoid water where a visible blue-green algae bloom is present. The Reservoir is scheduled to be treated as soon as possible in order to prevent the expansion of the cyanobacteria and to proactively protect our water supply
