RMCSD is Draining Laguna temporarily March 8 – 13, 2021 As the Rancho Murieta Community Services District continues to work towards remediating the problem of midge fly larvae in Laguna Joaquin, we have opened the spillway valve to draw down the water. Our hope is the cold weather over the next few days will expose some of the areas in which the midge fly larvae live. If there’s a frost event, it may kill the Midge larvae. This week has cold weather forecasted and therefore presented us an opportunity to do this. After this weekend we will close the drain valve and allow Laguna Joaquin to fill back up from runoff and from the CIA ditch. Thank you for your patience as we continue to work towards implementing and investigating solutions to the midge fly issue. If you have any questions, please call the District at 916-354-3700 or email psiebensohn@rmcsd.com.
